01Free auto-zoom screen recorder for Chrome
Screen recordings that auto-zoom on every click.

Exports include a small Tabreel watermark. Everything runs locally.
(01)Features
Everything you need to make a demo look effortless.
Auto-zoom on every click
Tabreel follows where you click and smoothly pushes in, so viewers always see what matters — no manual keyframing.
Smooth cursor & click effects
A polished cursor with subtle click ripples is rendered at export time, keeping your raw footage clean.
Styled, shareable exports
Wrap the recording in a tasteful frame and export to MP4 (H.264) or WebM (VP9), ready to drop anywhere.
Everything stays on your machine
Capture, edit, and export all run locally. No uploads, no analytics, no servers — your recordings never leave the device.
Tab + microphone audio
Record tab audio on its own, or mix in your mic for quick walkthroughs and demos.
Start and stop in a keystroke
Press Alt+Shift+R to start or stop recording the current tab without reaching for the toolbar.
(02)How it works
Three steps to a polished recording.
-
1
Press record
Click the Tabreel icon (or hit Alt+Shift+R) and pick the tab. A 3·2·1 countdown gives you a beat to get ready.
-
2
Click through your demo
Just use the page. Tabreel tracks your pointer in the background to plan the zoom — nothing covers the screen while you record.
-
3
Polish and export
Fine-tune the auto-zoom and frame in the editor, then export a clean MP4 or WebM to share.
(03)Privacy
Your recordings never leave your device.
- No network requests — the extension makes none. No analytics, no remote code, no uploads.
- Recordings are held in IndexedDB on your device and written to disk only when you export.
- Microphone access uses the standard browser prompt and is mixed in locally; mic audio is never uploaded.
- Least-privilege permissions: capture runs only on the tab you choose, only once you start a recording.
(04)FAQ
Questions, answered.
Does Tabreel upload my recordings?
No. Recording, editing, and exporting all happen on your machine. The extension makes no network requests at all.
What formats can I export?
MP4 (H.264) and WebM (VP9). You can also download the raw capture.
Can I record audio?
Yes — tab audio, and optionally your microphone, mixed together locally.
Is there a watermark?
Yes, a small always-on Tabreel watermark is added to every export.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and other Chromium browsers (Edge, Brave) that support Manifest V3 tab capture.
Is Tabreel a free alternative to Loom or Screencastify?
Yes. Tabreel is a free, on-device screen recorder with no account and no sign-in. Unlike Loom or Screencastify, nothing is uploaded to a server — recording, editing, and export all happen in your browser — and auto-zoom is included at no cost.
Do I have to keyframe the zoom by hand?
No. Tabreel plans the auto-zoom automatically from where you click, so you get a polished push-in with no manual keyframing. You can still fine-tune the zoom and framing in the editor before exporting.
Does Tabreel record a single tab or the whole screen?
Tabreel records the browser tab you choose using Chrome’s tab-capture API — not your whole desktop — so the recording stays clean and the auto-zoom keeps tracking your clicks within the tab.
